You look in the mirror on your wedding day and….OMG you have a huge skin blemish on your face!!!!! This was the unfortunate scenario that I came across while reading through an article in one of the issues of
InStyle Weddings. These three techniques will come in handy if any bride finds herself in this bind. Hopefully you will not be one of them!
“FOR BLEMISHES: Apply drugstore hydrocortisone cream every hour to reduce swelling and redness. When it’s time for your makeup, dab concealer on with a brush and set with loose powder.
FOR A COLD SORE: “Most people who get cold sores have a history, so start using your prescription treatment as soon as you feel those telltale tingles,” says David Bank, a dermatologist in Mount Kisco, N.Y. If you’re caught off-guard, apply Vaseline or Aquaphor to the sore to keep it soft so it won’t crack, he says. When it’s makeup time, apply foundation first, says Feedman, since concealer can get trapped in the sore’s crevices. Set with powder.
FOR DARK CIRCLES: Exercise “can help carry away pent-up fluids and blood that can make undereye skin look dark, says Day, so get moving. Use concealer a shade lighter than your foundation to counteract the darkness. Set with a light dusting of loose powder. “
