    Coping with His Bachelor Party

Dreading your fiancé’s upcoming bachelor party? I’m sure it’s not high on your list of exciting pre-wedding milestones. Obviously, the idea of your fiancé drooling over some woman named Bubbles or Mystique is not a pleasant thought. However, I suggest putting things into perspective.

First of all, don’t prohibit him from attending his bachelor party. Chances are, he will hold it against you for a very long time. Maybe forever! Think of it as a right-of-passage. Most bachelor parties are just for fun and do not involve any regrettable transgressions. Here are some tips that can help you cope:

Trust your fiancé. If you find it difficult to trust him during this bachelor party then perhaps you shouldn’t spend the rest of your life with this person.

Be confident enough to express your concerns with to your fiancé (if they exist).

Ask him to plan the bachelor party at least several weeks before the wedding so that it won’t interfere with any pre-wedding tasks or events.

If possible, have your bachelorette party on the same night. You are also entering a new stage in your life. Take your mind off of his party by having fun at your own!

    Wedding Day Skin Emergency Fixes

You look in the mirror on your wedding day and….OMG you have a huge skin blemish on your face!!!!! This was the unfortunate scenario that I came across while reading through an article in one of the issues of InStyle Weddings. These three techniques will come in handy if any bride finds herself in this bind. Hopefully you will not be one of them!

FOR BLEMISHES: Apply drugstore hydrocortisone cream every hour to reduce swelling and redness. When it’s time for your makeup, dab concealer on with a brush and set with loose powder.

FOR A COLD SORE: “Most people who get cold sores have a history, so start using your prescription treatment as soon as you feel those telltale tingles,” says David Bank, a dermatologist in Mount Kisco, N.Y. If you’re caught off-guard, apply Vaseline or Aquaphor to the sore to keep it soft so it won’t crack, he says. When it’s makeup time, apply foundation first, says Feedman, since concealer can get trapped in the sore’s crevices. Set with powder.

FOR DARK CIRCLES: Exercise “can help carry away pent-up fluids and blood that can make undereye skin look dark, says Day, so get moving. Use concealer a shade lighter than your foundation to counteract the darkness. Set with a light dusting of loose powder. “

    Sorry for Being Absent!

I have been working on some serious deadlines for the past few days, hence why you haven't heard from me lately. I'm working on some fabulous ideas for my upcoming weddings but they are pretty extensive (fun none-the-less). It's been difficult to schedule my regular posts but I promise to get back on track ASAP. A big thank you to my followers for being patient.

    One Girl Cookies Revisited

I must confess that I have a major “sweet tooth.” Lately, I’ve been better about it by not eating any sweets during the week and instead I try to eat fruit to satisfy my cravings. I know that it's good for my health but sometimes I go through serious withdrawal attacks. However, on Sundays I treat myself to whatever I want!

Since we are on the topic of sweets, earlier this year I came across some amazing hand-made cookies. They are absolutely delicious and cute, too. You don’t necessarily need to use them for wedding favors, but if you do, you can't go wrong. I love the simplicity of their packaging. Congratulations to One Girl Cookies! Your products are simply delightful!

Concepts in Bloom Bridal Event and Paper Boutique Launch

The Concepts in Bloom team was in Clifton at the well known Bridals By Roma shop this weekend for our bridal event. What a fabulous time! We invited a few vendors to come along: Christine Kasakowski of Olive Branch Papery, Shelley Goldenberg of Shelly's Cake Studio, Lisa Lashell of Mary Kay, and Eric Pasarin of xELstudio. As they shopped for their dream gown, brides were able to speak with these phenomenal vendors and obtain money-saving design ideas from me! In addition, the Concepts in Bloom models did a magnificent job at showcasing wedding gowns from the 2010 collections of the nation's top designers. We also offered participating brides the opportunity to win $1500 towards any of our wedding planning packages. We will announce the winner on December 11th!

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, Christine of Olive Branch Papery and I have fused to create a full suite of cutting edge designs for ceremony programs, table menus, escort cards, table numbers, and much more. We took this opportunity to launch our customized wedding day stationery line called Paper Boutique. We are truly excited about the possibilities! Christine is responsible for the designs and we collaborate on color combinations, textures, paper, layout, and marketing. Take a peak at our line...more to come soon!
